LCEF Announces Partnershp with Entergy Louisiana

Donation to fund endowment and workforce development programs.

At Entergy’s direction, the LCEF will generally utilize Entergy’s contribution in pursuit of the LCEF’s mission.  A portion of the Entergy funds will be deposited the LCEF’s endowment and the remainder will be used to fund specific workforce development programs.

Create Relevant Content

Through a $100,000 donation, Entergy Louisiana has created an important new partnership with the Louisiana Construction Education Foundation (LCEF).  The mission of the LCEF is to increase the number of skilled construction craft professionals in Louisiana.  The LCEF provides funding to develop careers in construction via training in public and private education environments. 


Examples of LCEF funding include:

• A welding lab for a Baton Rouge School with a disadvantage minority student body.  • In rural Livingston Louisiana, LCEF funded lab equipment to provide training in pipefitting and electrical, both high skill, high demand occupations.   • LCEF partnered with the Ascension Parish School System to build an electrical lab at at Dutchtown High School. • In conjunction with Dow Chemical and the Baton Rouge Community College, the LCEF funded a “Women in Welding Program” that allowed 50 women to complete the first course toward becoming a certified welder.
